Deadline looming for council spending consultation

People in South Tyneside have less than a week to share their views on which council services matter most to them.

The council's public consultation closes on Sunday, with over 1,500 people so far helping to shape decisions about how limited resources are allocated.
South Tyneside Council says it has to prioritise spending on statutory services such as adult and children's social care, waste collection and safeguarding, which account for around 80% of its revenue budget.
