Could PM win this year's sack race?
Scottish Sunday Express
|January 04, 2026
ONLY the institutionally incompetent mob that runs London along with hapless Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan could have pulled off such a damp squib with the New Year's Eve fireworks display, and selling ad space to a Wicked movie was beyond crass.

IT'S BEEN a while since the Prime Minister had one of our "school report" ratings of his work, indeed the last was when parliament broke up for the summer recess last year. So as we enter a new year, it therefore seems appropriate to revisit any progress made by Sir Keir Starmer (or Starmer, K). Or, more likely, the lack of it.
As before, it will be done on a subject-by-subject basis complete with a grade, and an overall concluding comment.
Another disappointing term, as candidly it appears he simply doesn't have any - and the rest of the school has now woken up to this. At least he seems to have filed away the story about his father being a toolmaker, but relying on gags about his favourite football team Arsenal won't cut it. Regrettably for him, another term where the more he is seen, the less he is liked.
Grade: C
