MATT FITZPATRICK heads into today's final round at the Betfred British Masters with a one-shot lead and a great chance to boost his Ryder Cup ambitions.
The Englishman, 30, posted a four-under 68 on day three at The Belfry and stands one shot clear at 12-under.
His performance so far at this event, hosted by Sir Nick Faldo, has furthered Fitzpatrick's hopes of becoming one of Europe team captain Luke Donald's picks for next month's Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in New York.
