Witness tells court that fatal car crash followed drug deal

A WITNESS has told a murder trial of travelling in a car which he claims came under attack following a drug deal.

Callum McGiven said he was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Amy Rose Wilson.

Her boyfriend, Ryan Paterson, was also with them.

In a horrific crash later, the 27-year-old was killed and her partner, 22, severely injured.

It is alleged to have happened while the car was being pursued by another vehicle.

The car came off the road on the outskirts of Falkirk on Saturday, July 29, 2023.

Yesterday, the High Court in Edinburgh heard Mr McGiven, 27, say that the trio travelled to a B&Q store in Cumbernauld.

At the store, a suitcase was placed in the boot of Amy Rose's car.

Mr McGiven said he was "certain" it contained drugs, adding: "I could smell cannabis."

He told the court that they then travelled to Mr McGiven's home, in Falkirk.

When they got there, a black Mercedes car "flew into the street" and two masked men got out.
