As the Chinese New Year approaches, Tamdhu has announced the release of its latest annual whisky expression dedicated to the celebrations.

A week today sees the start of the Year of the Horse, said to represent freedom, energy, and success.

Now, the beloved Speyside distillery has revealed its own tribute to the world's largest annual human migration when almost 10 billion trips globally are expected to be made during the 40-day Lunar New Year period.

The Tamdhu 'Year of the Horse' limited edition for 2026 encapsulates the all-sherry maturation for which the distillery's stable is revered the world over. With only 300 bottles available in the UK, this will be a collectors' item.

Bottled in the classic Tamdhu octagonal bottle, the outer packaging is red - fitting for Chinese New Year. A specially commissioned illustration, by visual artist Page Tsou, depicts jockey and steed trotting past the Victorian Dalbeallie station at the Tamdhu distillery, which exists to this day.
