Robbo: Clarke deserves World Cup swansong after all he's done for us

ANDY ROBERTSON says Scotland’s players are determined to give Steve Clarke the perfect sendoff as gaffer by going to the World Cup.

The national team skipper admits it might be his — and some of his teammates’ - last crack at the greatest football show on earth.

And he knows this qualifying campaign will probably be Clarke’s final one as well, with his contract coming to an end.

The manager has steered Scotland squads to two European Championships during his six-year stint in charge and Robertson wants to repay him by getting to the USA, Canada and Mexico next summer.

Clarke’s side kick off their latest campaign against Denmark in Copenhagen tonight, knowing a defeat could be costly in a four-team group.

But Liverpool star Robertson is adamant they can qualify and give their boss the swansong he deserves.
