FOR movie fans it was the moment that launched a franchise, created a global star and defined Ursula Andress for the rest of her life.

The statuesque 25-year-old emerges from the ocean in a white bikini, a knife strapped to her hip, in the very first James Bond movie. The iconic scene from 1962's Dr No, nearly overshadowed Sean Connery's 007, turning the unknown Swiss actress into a global sensation.

While Ursula, who turns 90 today, always acknowledged the extraordinary success that single moment brought her, she also spent a lifetime trying to escape it.
