Uni's woke wish list to apologise for slavery
Scottish Daily Express
|July 28, 2025
A LEADING university has been accused of “pandering” to woke activists after suggesting renaming buildings and repurposing grants to apologise for historic slavery.
Edinburgh University already faces a £140million deficit over the next 18 months, which could lead to staffing cuts yet despite all this, money will still be found to deal with historic racism complaints.
The institution confirmed it would implement some of the recommendations made in a review, which may include the creation of a Naming Approval Committee to manage requests for naming or renaming University buildings.
