Europa semifinals last season. Tounekti, who was on loan at Dutch side Groningen before leaving Norway in 2022, said: “Bodo has shown it is possible to go far.

“We want to go as far as possible and for that we have to play our style and to develop and to play good games.

“We feel like we can do that, we feel like the team and squad is good.

“I think the secret is to be ourselves, to not change. We have to play our style of football.

“We are going to meet many good teams, it's going to be difficult. But we want to go as far as possible.”

Tounekti was thrilled to open his goal account at Firhill as Celtic swept past Partick Thistle with a 4-0 win in Sunday's Premier Sports Cup quarterfinal.

The Norway-born Tunisia international - signing from Swedish side Hammarby - was delighted to build on his impressive debut in the league win at Kilmarnock a week earlier and has already set his sights on the semifinal with Rangers next month.
