TOONY: WE ENDED ON POSITIVE NOTE
Scottish Daily Express
|November 24, 2025
GREGOR TOWNSEND last night insisted there are a many positives to take from Scotland's Autumn Nations Series matches after they wrapped up their campaign with an eight-try win over Tonga.
It was a low-key affair after the previous two weeks, when the Scots lost to the All Blacks and Argentina, with the Pumas winning from 21-0 down.
Tonga had four men yellow-carded — with one, to blindside flanker Semisi Paea, upgraded to a 20-minute red.
Scotland huffed and puffed for long stretches before they put their limited opponents to the sword. And it was only in the closing minutes that Scotland scored against 15 men in the 56-0 Murrayfield victory.
But head coach Townsend - under growing pressure after those two defeats ~ still felt able to stress the positive.
