Tex-Mex is the meal deal

MEXICAN cuisine group Plan Burrito (PB) is expanding its franchising operation with hot prospects for aspiring entrepreneurs and ever more choice for discerning street foodies.

A specialist in Tex-Mex menus that combine the vibrant flavours of Mexico with the cheese and meat favoured by neighbour Texas, the award-winning UK company now has 13 locations in England and seven more openings planned.

With the chewy-crunchy medley of its burritos, tacos, nachos and churros washed down with a Jarritos beer or soda now enjoyed by millions, the man behind the Latin American feasts is owner Stephen Hopper. He opened his first PB in Loughborough in 2015 with £10,000 and, self-funded so far, he is now considering external investment, preferably from a restaurant group.
