Swinney is branded as 'dishonest' in fiery FMQs

Presiding Officer Alison Johnstone was forced to step in repeatedly as insults were flung across the chamber between the SNP leader and Scottish Tory leader Russell Findlay.

The rivals clashed over the Scottish Government's failure to back new nuclear power in Scotland, with a poll showing that most SNP supporters want Mr Swinney to U-turn on the party’s long-standing policy.

Concerns

Mr Findlay also blamed the SNP and Labour for the closure of the Grangemouth oil refinery which stopped production earlier this week.

He highlighted that the two parties’ hostility towards the oil and gas sector had curbed investment and led to grave economic concerns.
