Fraser says lifting trophy under Robbo is next target

- MARCUS FRASER

MARCUS FRASER believes a domestic trophy under Stephen Robinson is the only thing St Mirren are missing.

The Buddies will get the chance to fill that void when they go into next month's Premier Sports Cup Final against Celtic.

The Paisley side have qualified for Europe and made the top six for the last three seasons.

The defender knows the massive strides that St Mirren have made under Robinson and he reckons delivering silverware would cap it all off.

Fraser said: "It would be massive. We know we have had Europe and top six ticked off and this is the next hurdle.

"The boys just keep pushing the boundaries and this is where we want to be.

"We knew we had to go and win and that showed in our performance. We wanted it more and I think we got what we deserved.

"Hopefully we can go one more step and win it." It was Motherwell who were tipped as the slight favourites going into this Hampden clash. But the men in black and white ripped up that prediction and trashed it in the bin, like their opponents.

It was billed as beauty versus the beast in terms of the alleged differing playing styles but there was only one winner and St Mirren who were the stunners.

Fraser said: "I watch us train every day and I see how much quality the boys have got passing it around and scoring good goals.
