SNP 'is running Scotland into ground' Tories claim
Scottish Daily Express
|August 25, 2025
THE SNP has been accused of "running Scotland into the ground" by the Scottish Tories, with the party set to call for more powers to be moved away from the Scottish Parliament.
Leader Russell Findlay will make a speech in Glasgow today where he will set out plans to empower local communities and councils after years of centralisation by the Scottish Government. He will also demand that John Swinney and the Nats stop spending money on breaking up the UK, which has been pursued by civil servants since Alex Salmond came to power in 2007.
The speech will also see Mr Findlay, left, argue that councils should be handed more cash from government coffers, and that ringfencing should be removed. He will detail how politicians are "detached from reality" with Scots becoming even more despondent about politics.
