Dance disc bonds father and son in new John Lewis Christmas TV ad

- LUCY NEEDHAM

Rave heart

NOSTALGIA is once again at the heart of the John Lewis festive TV advert, with this year's centring on a father and son who bond over a 90s dance record.

The department store will release its traditional ad today, 10 days before it did last year, telling shoppers: "If you can't find the words, find the gift."

imageAimed squarely at the 50-something former clubbing generation, the film opens on Christmas Day with a dad tidying away discarded wrapping paper when he finds a leftover present meant for him.

Inside is a vinyl record of 1990s dance track Where Love Lives by Alison Limerick.
