Nearly a million asylum seekers received freebies on the NHS

ALMOST one million asylum seekers have been receiving freebies on the NHS, shocking figures have revealed.

Migrants were given 920,199 HC2 certificates — around 59% of those issued — in the past five years, according to a Freedom of Information request.

This entitles them to freebies such as free prescriptions, dental care, eye tests and discounts on glasses.

Every migrant eligible for section 95 support which means they can claim housing and financial assistance — is automatically given a HC2 certificate.
