Toony: Scots can defeat All Blacks
IT'S BALL OVER Darcy Graham scores his team's eighth try as Scotland defeat the USA 85-0 at Murrayfield
SCOTLAND might have not managed a win over New Zealand since the first meeting 120 years ago - but Gregor Townsend reckons his players will not feel the weight of history when the nations meet again at Murrayfield this Saturday.
In 32 matches, the best the Scots have managed is two draws. And they have suffered some heavy defeats, the worst being the 69-20 loss in 2000.
But, instead of studying the record books, head coach Townsend reckons his team will take heart from recent encounters with the mighty All Blacks.
In 2017, his first year in the job, Scotland lost 22-17 at Murrayfield. And at the same venue five years later, they came almost as close but lost 31-23.
