Loophole let foreign driver who failed UK test kill OAP

A CORONER has warned of a legal loophole allowing foreigners to drive without L plates - after a Nigerian who failed his UK test twice killed a pensioner in a crash.

Timothy Kusemi, 41, had a provisional licence when he caused the death of Susan Whittles, 70, in Rudston, East Yorks, on November 24, 2023, an inquest heard.

The case has sparked questions over why overseas motorists can continue driving unsupervised despite repeated test failures - rules that do not apply to British learners.
