THE BBC has released its 2024/25 salary report for its highest-paid stars, with former Match of the Day’s Gary Lineker at number one.

- By Sasha Morris

It comes two months after he announced his exit from the broadcaster following his apology for sharing a pro-Palestine social media post.

Lineker, 64, has been confirmed as the only star paid more than £1million, with takings of £1.35m.

Zoe Ball placed at second, despite leaving her Radio 2 breakfast show. Her salary ranged from £515,000 to £520,000, a drop from £955,000 last year.
