Lammy 'wouldn't pay £588 taxi fare'

THE Foreign Office has denied an Italian cab driver’s claims that David Lammy refused to pay a £588 taxi bill.

French media said the cabbie took the Foreign Secretary and his artist wife Nicola Green 360 miles from Italy to a ski resort in France last month, following an official diplomatic visit.

The bill came to £1,305, £717 of which was covered by the transfer service used to book the car — leaving £588 to be paid.
