Karlsson hopes Pittodrie rout is sign of things to come

JESPER KARLSSON insists Aberdeen’s weekend demolition job on Dundee must be the catalyst for climbing up the Premiership table.

The Sweden international played a starring role with two goals in Sunday's 4-0 win at Pittodrie.

He netted the opener from the spot and rounded off the scoring with a fine second as Jimmy Thelin’s side bagged their first goals and league win of the season.

The Dons remain two points adrift at the bottom and Karlsson knows they have to keep the momentum going after the international break, with their next outing against St Mirren in Paisley on October 18.

The attacking midfielder, left, said: “We built on what we did in the Shakhtar game, so it was good to do that and win the game.

“| have a bit of relief because we have a good team with good players. We just need some games to get things going.”
