MILL REEF TRAINER LEAVES HUGE LEGACY
The great Mill Reef was Ian Balding's best horse
IAN BALDING, trainer of the legendary Mill Reef and father of Classic winner Andrew and TV presenter Clare — has passed away at the age of 87.
Balding, also a Cheltenham Festival-winning rider, shaped the careers of many top-class horses, after taking the reins at Park House Stables in Kingsclere upon the death of Peter Hastings-Bass in 1964.
