More than ghost of chance for title now thanks to Jack but Kasper has become Celts' calamity keeper

- ANDY NEWPORT AT CELTIC PARK

GERS DID IT WIN BY ONE

THE Parkhead punters were already flooding for the exits by the time Callum McGregor slung one last cross into Rangers box, only for it to find the arms of Jack Butland.

It came as no great surprise to those still lingering in the ground looking to give their beleaguered board and its managerial fall guy Wilfried Nancy a final roar of disapproval, given they had spent the 90 minutes leading up to it watching the keeper bat away almost everything thrown at him.

On an afternoon when Celtic created enough chances to have won by five or six, they found themselves defeated largely thanks to Butland's refusal to be beaten. Youssef Chermiti's breakthrough double and a third goal from Mikey Moore sealed the most remarkable of turnaround victories.

This, though, was a triumph only made possible by the man between the sticks.

As momentous as it must feel for Danny Rohl's resurgent side, all it does is draw them level with a Celtic outfit still stuttering along in second place and now six points behind Derek McInnes' Hearts.

But it should also serve as a reminder that as grim as this season has been at points for the Rangers faithful, it would likely have been an awful lot worse without former England international Butland.
