Severn Cruise sails the full 90-mile return navigable length, from Gloucester to Stourport-on-Severn, and is aimed at those who simply want to wander free, so doesn’t include excursions.

A once-a-year five-nighter each May, the English Gardens Cruise visits 18th-century Westbury Court Garden (with its own canals), Spetchley Park (a Palladian mansion amid 4,500 acres of gardens and parkland) and the RHS’s spring show in Malvern. Another special is the English Vineyards & Wine Tasting Cruise, exploring three vineyards as well as touching on Gloucester’s colourful Fox’s Kiln distillery, home of Fox’s Kiln Gin.
