Energy firm's pursuit hits the buffers

THE RAILWAY arches near her home had long looked derelict but were not a danger until a mum started getting demands to cover an outstanding energy bill for the property which had nothing to do with her.
As Sylvia Hughes plunged deeper trying to prove her innocence, formal verifications she provided seemed to fall on stony ground.
A new company, Corona Energy, appeared to have taken over from British Gas, and a disconnection agent wanted Sylvia to pay a £2,000 debt for an erroneous business account.
The firm also said it would seek a warrant for forced entry, which would do serious damage to her credit record.
Months later, Sylvia’s struggle became too much for her and she asked Crusader for help, explaining:
