RAISE GAME: Aberdeen new boy Kusini Yengi believes his move from Portsmouth to Pittodrie will boost his World Cup chances with Australia
KUSINIYENGI is looking to hit the heights with Aberdeen to make sure he's flying off to the World Cup finals next summer.
The Australian international became Reds boss Jimmy Thelin's fourth signing, making the move from English Championship side Portsmouth on freedom of contract.
The 26-year-old striker whose younger brother Tete plays for Livingston has 11 caps and six goals for his country and is determined to fire his way back into the thoughts of new Socceroos boss Tony Popovic, after being left out of this camp for the World Cup qualifier with Saudi Arabia.
Yengi said: “Hopefully I can continue my good form for Aberdeen.
“Scoring lots of goals will get recognition from the national coach.
“I can get back in camp and hopefully travel to the World Cup next year.
“The World Cup is something very few players get to be a part of and Australia we have had a big qualifying campaign.
