Donor plea by family of heart girl, 6

THE family of a girl in desperate need of a lifesaving heart transplant say they are stuck in limbo as she waits for an organ donation.

Resilient... wee fighter Brie McCann, aged six

Six-year-old Brie McCann was born with Ebstein’s anomaly, a rare condition that affects the flow of blood through a valve in the heart.

Brie, of Robroyston, Glasgow, needs a heart transplant and mum Jodie McCann, 34, said her daughter's condition has deteriorated and she is now on the urgent list.

Doctors at London’s Great Ormond Street hospital were keen to have her on Milrinone. This is a strong medication which requires Brie to be an inpatient as it is given through transfusion.

Brie was moved to Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children in July.
