Holiday pay...DIY funds trips for the Smith family
A FRUGAL family saved £36,000 by using online DIY tutorials to learn how to update the kitchen and mend appliances among a range of skills.
When Natalie and Jason Smith moved into their first home they took on jobs as they could not afford professionals. Now it is a way of life for the 35-year-olds and children Finn, 14, and Lola 12, of Dymchurch, Kent - and the savings fund their travels.
Rather than paying for a barber Natalie swotted up on videos, bought clippers and combs and learned to cut Jason and Finn's hair like a pro.
