Dinner lady jailed for 17 years over plot to be Islamic State martyr

A FORMER school dinner lady who planned to become an Islamic State martyr has been jailed for life.
Farishta Jami, 36, pledged allegiance to ISIS, researched one-way flights to Afghanistan and saved £1,200 to go.
She was convicted at Leicester Crown Court in February of two counts of engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorism.
Sentencing Jami yesterday, Judge Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb told her: "You adopted the ISIS philosophy of hatred and violence.
"It is a great shame that even now I cannot find that you are less than committed to the cause."
