More late drama - but this time it's Andrews who grabs all the glory for Gray's men
-
MARTIN O'NEILL was adamant Celtic could not keep getting away with it. He was bang on.
Once again, the champions found themselves scrambling to try to win it.
But this time, after a hugely-controversial second-half minute when they were firstly reduced to 10-men after Auston Trusty was red carded and then howled for a penalty for a tug on Liam Scales, they lost it.
Celtic were hit with a taste of their late own medicine when Kai Andrews struck to give Hibs a long-awaited triumph.
For the first time since 2010, the Easter Road club celebrated success in Glasgow's east end with their on-loan Coventry star stroking home the winner with seconds to go. It was a massive title blow for Celtic. Trailing early to Felix Passlack's first goal in a Hibs shirt, O'Neill's men found a way back to parity when Benjamin Nygren bagged his 18th to level before the break.
In recent weeks, Celtic have been coming up with the dramatic late shows.
Not this time. The home fans were furious that, having cited Trusty for a red card for thrusting out an arm and striking Jamie McGrath, VAR official Grant Irvine then didn't contact ref Matthew MacDermid again and tell him to look at Jack Iredale's tug in the box on Scales.
Angst turned to disgust when David Gray's troops marched upfield to rejoice in the glory of Andrews late stunner.
