Call to end loophole on sexual offenders

THE Scottish Government has been blasted for failing to close a loophole which allows dangerous sex offenders to change their names - putting the public at risk.
More than 500 legally changed their name in the last two years, allowing them to potentially stay anonymous.
A total of 506 have changed their monikers over the 2023-24 and 2024-25 financial years.
