James deal thumbs up with Chelsea on the right path to winning silverware
REECE JAMES is adamant Chelsea are on the "right path" to winning major trophies and that the financial side in his decision to sign a new contract was not the most important part.
The Blues captain has put pen to paper on a new six-year deal at Stamford Bridge, committing his future to his boyhood club until 2032.
James was close to entering the final two years of his contract, but has now signed an extension that is aligned with the incentivised wage structure in place since the club was bought in 2022.
He insisted there was not too much of a decision to be made, when it came to prolonging his time in west London and is confident Chelsea are on track to compete for major trophies once again under the ownership of BlueCo.
