BLOOM SAYS HE 'WASN'T INVOLVED' IN HIRING DEL

TONY BLOOM has revealed he wasn’t involved in the hiring of Derek McInnes at Hearts this summer - but described the Scot as a “really good appointment”.

The Brighton owner, who invested £10million in the Gorgie club for a 29% share, has been impressed by McInnes’ impact since he replaced Neil Critchley.

The Jambos won all four of their Premier Sports Cup group games in July as well as their opening two Premiership fixtures this month to sit top of the table.

Hearts’ recruitment team are using Bloom’s Jamestown Analytics data to unearth potential gems, and the Englishman has boldly claimed they can finish runners-up in the league this season and win a title within 10 years.

Sporting director Graeme Jones was key in luring McInnes from Kilmarnock. And Bloom said: “At any football club, the head coach is critical.
