Another Onana skin for hapless United

IN Europe’s gastronomic capital, Andre Onana made a dog’s dinner of two simple saves on a night when he needed to be perfect.

After trading public insults with Lyon midfielder Nemanja Matic, who branded him one of the worst goalkeepers in Manchester United’s history, Onana, inset, could not afford any slip-ups.

But his 25th-minute cock-up, when he palmed the ball into his own net, and another deep into added time, underlined his status as a liability.

United looked to have done enough to win the game, with Leny Yoro equalising just before half-time and substitute Joshua Zirkzee heading them ahead two minutes from time.

But Onana had one more gaffe in his locker, spilling a shot from Corentin Tolisso, allowing Rayan Cherki to score from the rebound and earn a draw in the 95th minute.
