COWARD Kyle Clifford’s refusal to leave his prison cell ensured he became the latest in a series of evil murderers who have dodged facing justice.

Many of Britain’s worst killers have proved themselves too scared to face hearing their victims’ surviving relatives and friends delivering harrowing impact statements on their heinous acts.

Judge Mr Justice Joel Bennathan decided Clifford should not be restrained and forced to attend a video-link of the court because of his potential to disrupt proceedings.

The killer was left cowering in his cell at London’s HMP Belmarsh having refused to attend either last week’s rape trial or yesterday’s sentencing.
