KING'S HISTORIC MOVE MAKES BROTHER A COMMONER

and honours" and will be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor with immediate effect, it was announced last night.

He will shortly move from Windsor to a private home on the Sandringham Estate.

Buckingham Palace aides announced King Charles had set the wheels in motion for historic changes which mean Andrew lives as an ordinary citizen. He was second in line to the throne until nephew William, now Prince of Wales, was born in 1982.

The 7pm statement declared: “These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

It follows a raft of scandals embroiling Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson over their relationship with late US paedo-phile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew recently gave up use of his Duke of York title but the King is formally removing it. The statement said: “His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease.”

If anything, I find the endless choice, plus variations in the information available, even more daunting. At least in a traditional bricks-and-mortar shop, you can ask for help or pick up the bottle and read the label!
