DORRINGTON'S GOAL FOLLOWED TRAINING VOW
ALFIE DORRINGTON kept a training ground promise to his Aberdeen team-mates when he stuck away his first senior goal.
Now he's set his sights on adding to his tally before the end of the season to help the Dons net third spot.
Dorrington's brilliant top corner strike sparked the fightback in Saturday's 4-1 win over Motherwell that keeps Jimmy Thelin's side right on Hibs' shoulder in the scrap for the lucrative 'best of the rest' finish.
But the on-loan Tottenham defender is first to admit his shooting during drills at Cormack Park has been woeful.
So bad that 19-year-old Dorrington had to convince his Dons mates that he was keeping his best for match day.
That's how it worked out as the teenager stepped onto Jeppe Okkels' tidy lay-off to thrash an effort high past Ellery Balcombe with the help of a slight deflection.
His only previous goals have come in academy football.
