A COLLECTION of Airfix boat and plane kits has sold for £84,000.

Nearly 700 lots of the childhood favourite went up for sale.
The auction included a number of private collections. But the majority were from a single collector whose models alone made £36,000, with some items going for 10 times their estimate.
