Remote Area Medical (RAM), a leading nonprofit organization that provides popup clinics offering free dental, vision, and medical care to those in need, will hold a free two-day clinic on Saturday and Sunday, August 16 and 17, starting at 6:00 am in Philadelphia, PA. The clinic will be hosted at the School of the Future, located at 4021 Parkside Avenue, Philadelphia, PA.
In light of the challenging political climate and the numerous cuts to healthcare, SNAP, CHIP, education, social security, veterans' benefits, and other essential services, many individuals in underserved communities can greatly benefit from any assistance available.
"This clinic is extremely crucial in addition to the other providers of healthcare. Everyone who can seize the opportunity to provide services to underserved communities is a plus," said Sheriff Rochelle Bilal. "With every RAM clinic event, it evolves—you learn more, gain more support from volunteers, and healthcare professionals become increasingly aware of the effort and more willing to get involved. The commitment from the healthcare community has grown significantly since the first RAM clinic. Private doctors and healthcare organizations recognize this effort and send their personnel to volunteer."
