Tony B. Watlington Sr., Ed.D., Superintendent of the School District of Philadelphia, along with Reginald L. Streater, Esq., President of the Philadelphia Board of Education, Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake, Vice President of Community Affairs and President of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, Lauren Maloney, Director of the AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation, and Kathryn Roberson, President and CEO of the Fund for the School District of Philadelphia, launched the fifth annual Back-to-School Celebration and Bus Tour at the School of the Future, located at 4201 Parkside Ave.

The Bus Tour kicked off at 10 am and featured the distribution of backpacks and school supplies. Various vendors representing local, city, and state resources were set up across the lawns of the School of the Future.
