Justice: key to lasting global peace

Saturday Star

September 20, 2025

THE International Day of Peace, marked annually on September 21, is a reminder of the major role that worldwide application of justice can play in the attainment of lasting global peace.

- FLORA TECKIE

"No light can compare with the light of justice. The establishment of order in the world and the tranquillity of the nations depend upon it", states Bahá'u'lláh, the founder of the Bahá'í Faith.

Peace, unity, and justice are reciprocal in their effects. It is the requirement of justice that everyone is treated equally and with dignity.

Justice, as a key to lasting global peace, calls for fair-mindedness in our judgements, for equity in treatment of others, and application of justice daily: in everything we do, and towards all our fellow human beings.
