Dad says new MP 'playing politics' rather than helping
A DAD said he feels "disrespected" by his MP as he has tried to get support for a health problem.
Simon Wainwright, 51, from Runcorn, said he is unable to work and suffers health issues as a result of problems with spinal treatment he received in 2007. As such, he has sought support from his MP, hoping to raise awareness of his issue.
His MP is Reform UK's Sarah Pochin, who has represented Runcorn and Helsby since May 2, succeeding Mike Amesbury.
Amesbury, who had been elected as a Labour MP, resigned in March after receiving a suspended sentence for assaulting a constituent on a night out in October 2024. He was previously suspended by and then resigned from the party.
Mr Wainwright said he had felt supported by Amesbury and his staff during his time in office and wanted to make sure this continued. He said he first made contact with Ms Pochin's office the day after her election.
