Farmland off Gorsey Lane could become home to more than 200 new properties

- BY MARK SMITH

Objection to homes plan

HUNDREDS of new homes could be built near Widnes if plans are given the green light.

Halton Council is being urged to have its say on outline proposals put forward by Taylor Wimpey for 220 properties on Gorsey Lane.

The planned estate would fall in the St Helens boundary and its council will have the final say, but its proximity to Widnes means Halton is being consulted too.

Warrington Council has also been consulted and has already objected.
