MBE for Jack’s services to young people

Assistant vice principal is honoured by the King

AN ASSISTANT vice principal at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic High School in Widnes has been awarded an MBE for services to young people in the King’s Birthday Honours List.

Jack Caine has worked at the Widnes school for over three years. A member of the senior leadership team, he provides essential support to the Year 7 team and their students, as well as overseeing the work of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Inclusion teams.

He is also Scouts Section Team Member for 1st Tarporley and also performs the role of UK Lead Volunteer for People for the Scouts leading on transformational work around volunteer experience.

The school says that since joining the school, Jack, a father-of-one, has played a crucial role in a range of initiatives to support the teaching and learning of students with SEND.

These include the co-ordination of the curriculum for The Oratory, a one-of-a-kind specialist secondary-age ASD resource unit in Halton and also the reintroduction of the Duke of Edinburgh award programme accessible to children of all backgrounds.
