REVIEW BY DR JOE DAWSON

BORN in Taiwan, Ying Cheng was awarded First Prize (with Distinction) for piano in the Tunghai University Concerto Competition 2020.

She went on to gain a Postgraduate Advanced Studies Diploma at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2024 and is currently enrolled on its Continuing Professional Development course, where she is broadening her musical horizons under Professor Helen Krizos.

This enables her to explore a diverse range of musical genres and styles, giving solo recitals, accompanying choirs and collaborating with flautists and cellists in chamber music.

Most modern musicians need a portfolio career.
