Dale duo give boss closing day boost
Rochdale Observer
|May 10, 2025
JIM McNulty’s plans for the play-offs were offered a boost this week with the return of two key players from injury.
Ryan East and Liam Hogan (pictured) returned from lengthy lay-offs to play a part in Rochdale’s final game of the regular Vanarama National League season at Braintree Town.
Dale were beaten 2-0 on the day by a side fighting to steer clear of relegation.
But the result meant little to Dale, who had already secured a fourth-place finish. They can now look forward to a home play-off eliminator next Thursday against Southend United, who finished in seventh spot.
“Having secured fourth place last week at Solihull and getting that over the line, coming into this game the main thing was no injuries, no suspensions and welcoming back Liam Hogan and Ryan East after lengthy layoffs ahead of a vital game next week,” said McNulty.
