The Language of War
Punjab Times (English Edition)
|May 20, 2025
The military conflict between India and Pakistan shall be remembered for one special reason: the language of war.
-
The brutal attack on 26 Hindu tourists, a foreigner and a Muslim by terrorists at Pahalgam in Kashmir generated unprecedented anger in the country. It angered the Prime Minister of India. In an election rally in Bihar, the PM clearly communicated to the world that those who committed the genocide at Pahalgam would be taught a lesson and given a befitting response. The PM message conveyed his intent and country's resolve to punish the perpetrators of the heinous crime both in Hindi and English languages. He ‘deliberately’ did it to send a message across both to the domestic and international audience. He roared, “Today, from the soil of Bihar I want to say to the whole world that India will identify, trace and punish every terrorist, supporter and conspirator. We'll pursue them to the end of the earth. They will be punished beyond their imagination. The perpetrators will face the “full might of India’s response”.
