The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Sirsa Kumari Selja said that due to the neglect of government schools by the state BJP government, five lakh children have disappeared from government schools in the last 12 years.
The government talks about a new education policy, but it lacks the funds to repair dilapidated school buildings or to build new ones, along with other necessary infrastructure. The government is promoting private schools and conspiring to close down government schools. If education falls into the hands of private schools, no poor child will be able to dream of education. The most important thing is that while the population of the state is increasing, the number of children in schools is decreasing.
