Unravelling the mysteries of 'Andhera': an ambitious yet chaotic horror series

THERE is a lot Andhera tries to be. It's an urban horror, a psychological thriller, a sci-fi tale and a little moody meditation on grief and guilt. Does it succeed? Well, it’s complicated.
The series starts off strong.
A woman disappears under mysterious circumstances, a doctor is in a coma, and his younger brother, Jay (Karanvir Malhotra), is being haunted by his guilt, possibly by a literal sentient darkness. He teams up with Kalpana Kadam (a solid Priya Bapat), the cop who smells something foul under all this supernatural mess, and Rumi (Prajakta Koli), a paranormal podcaster, who is basically the only one asking the right questions.
