Two years on: arrest made in alleged murder of taxi boss

AFTER embarking on a quest for justice of almost two years, the family of Mohomad Raffik Suleman, a taxi boss who was gunned down, believe the wheels of justice are turning.
Last Friday, Simthandile "Lucky" Noyinyana, 25, of Mhlasini in Verulam, was arrested and charged for the murder of 53-year-old Suleman.
He was shot four times, while standing outside his home in Caneside on September 27 in 2023.
Noyinyana was also charged with the attempted murder of Mohamed Khan and appeared briefly in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Duminsani Mchunu, the State prosecutor, requested an adjournment for an identity parade to be conducted and profiling of Noyinyana to establish if he had any pending matters, as well as verification of an alternate address.
He said the State was opposed to bail.
